Join us as we hike across the Ice from Island Number 8 to Government Island. We will meet at 10:30am on Feb 2nd at the Les Cheneaux Coffee Company and car pool to Island Number 8. From there we will hike across the open ice to Government Island where we will explore the isalnd and it’s hiking trail and enjoy a snack lunch. This will be a truly unique experience that you won’t want to miss! There will be a good bit of hiking though so come prepared for the elements.
Bring: Warm clothes, snowshoes, a sack lunch / hearty snacks, and a sense of adventure.
Please Note the island has only a bit toilet and they may or may not be accessible at this time of year.
Snowshoes highly recommended for this trip. If you don’t own
